Center Client's Story: M., 21 years old, no higher education

"At school I was not a good student, hard sciences were not easy for me, and I had some problems with languages. Having finished school I went to work as a sales person. Payment was low and irregular. My mother's attitude to my work was indifferent. She liked vodka best of all. I had neither relatives nor any friends.

One of my acquaintances suggested that I work as a call-girl in Turkey. I agreed since I wanted to earn money very much and start a new life. But I could not imagine what this work was.

We were not allowed to go out, leave the room or make phone calls at all. Sometimes clients beat us.

When I was deported was happy. But still I returned to our flat and to my continually drunk mother.

The officers of the Anti-trafficking Division took me to the Center. Everything I've heard appeared unreal to me: personal computer courses English …and these all were free! It was fantastic!

I felt bitter and hurt that all this had been around me but I had not known anything and 8 months of my life had been lost. But I had to think of my future.

At the advice of the assistant I passed the test for professional match and it turned out that my abilities allowed me to deal with machines. I was both surprised and very glad.

I started attending the computer courses at the Center and I was very interested in them. I spent all of my free time in the Center improving my PC skills. This was a new world for me: interesting and kind…moreover, I felt wanted in it.

From the information about job openings, which come to the Center, I found out that one of the private taxi companies needed controllers with PC skills, so I started volunteering there and soon I got the job. I have been working for two months already and I am happy that I have got this job. It is all due to the Center."
